Some quick definitions:



​Scream Your Theme (also called SYT) is a chant with choreographed dance moves between 1-2 minutes long. Generally,  groups emphasize their theme, groups they are associated with (the group of their Queen or Ugly, as well as any group that picked one of their own members), and overall school spirit. 



Skits is a two hours before the performance, each group is given a list of three words that they are required to use in their skit. These words usually relate to the overall theme in some way, and some groups include their definitions in their skit. Topics included in skits are: the theme of each group, school spirit, and popular topics around campus and the nation (for example: we mentioned Brett Favre's - ahem - embarrassing picture texts the year it happened). These skits are often very funny and entertaining!



Airbands is the event that overall takes the most work on the part of the group. It is a choreographed dance/lip sync that 7 members (6 of the active members and the group's Ugly or Queen) participate in.
